Episode 11: Are You an Initiator or a Magnetizer - The Two Ways We Create What We Want

Are You an Initiator or a Magnetizer? The Two Ways We Create What We Want description What if the reason you are struggling to create what you want is not a lack of discipline, faith, or positive thinking, but that you have been using a method that works against your nature? Some people are initiators. They move toward life, open doors, create momentum, and make things happen. Others are magnetizers. They attract people, possibilities, and resources by becoming receptive to what is trying to find them. Neither way is superior, but confusing the two can leave you exhausted, frustrated, and wondering why advice that works beautifully for someone else repeatedly fails you. In this episode of *My Many Selves*, Damaris Nightingale explores these two distinct ways of creating, the hidden partnerships between them, and why we may embody different roles in different areas of our lives. This conversation challenges the one-size-fits-all version of the Law of Attraction and asks a far more useful question: Are you meant to pursue what you want, attract it toward you, or consciously unite both powers within yourself?

Episode 10: Navigating The Nuances of the Law of Attraction

Damaris Nightingale explores the complexities of the Law of Attraction, challenging the idea that a single, one-size-fits-all formula works universally for everyone. Instead, the host highlights the importance of individual nuances and personal configurations. Two dominant operating systems or mystical traditions for achieving goals: the "path of the lover," which fits people who actively go after things, initiate action, and rely on a gut feeling during movement; and the "path of the beloved," which is best suited for individuals who achieve results through internal alignment, contemplation, visualization, and emotional preparation. Different people possess varying dominant tools to manifest their desires, such as vivid mental imagery (visualization), spoken declarations (prayers, mantras, or zikr), or directly sliding into a lived emotional essence or feeling. A core principle across all methods is that magnetism requires energy and feeling; consequently, a strong aversion to something can inadvertently attract that exact negative element into a person's life.

Episode 9: Forgiveness: The Prison Break

What if forgiveness isn’t about choosing sides… but escaping the prison altogether? In this deeply personal episode of My Many Selves, Damaris Nightingale challenges one of the greatest myths about forgiveness. Whether you’ve been the one who was wounded, the one holding on to resentment, or the one carrying the weight of regret, every role can become its own prison. Through personal stories, a powerful forgiveness practice, and timeless wisdom, Damaris explores how we unknowingly become both prisoner and warden, sometimes even at the same time. In this episode you’ll discover: • Why forgiveness is an act of self-liberation, not self-sacrifice. • How resentment keeps us emotionally chained to the past. • Why both the prisoner and the warden remain locked inside the same prison. • How guilt can imprison the offender just as deeply as anger imprisons the offended. • Why real freedom begins when you stop asking who was right and start asking, “Which self is leading my life?” Whether you are waiting for an apology… Trying to forgive someone who never asked… Or struggling to forgive yourself… This episode is an invitation to step out of every role that keeps you captive. Because every prison has a door. Sometimes the prisoner must walk through it. Sometimes the warden must unlock it. And sometimes, they are the same person.

Episode 8: Missing the Forest For the Tree

Are you looking for perfection in me… while I am trapped in this temporary abode?” Have you ever become so focused on one flaw that you stopped seeing everything else? Have you ever been reduced to your worst mistake, your greatest weakness, or one “ugly and rugged tree,” while the rest of your forest remained unseen? In this deeply personal episode of My Many Selves, Damaris Nightingale shares the story behind her poem “Missing a Beautiful Forest Because of One Ugly Tree.” What began as the pain of being constantly criticized became a profound lesson about relationships, self-worth, compassion, and the way we judge ourselves and others. Together, we’ll explore why our minds naturally fixate on defects, why we spend so much of our lives “looking for perfection,” and why imagination and reality are not the same. We’ll also take a fresh look at karma. Is it really a simple system of reward and punishment? Or is life shaped by countless interacting conditions, where one act of kindness, one habit, one choice, or one relationship never tells the whole story? Perhaps the greatest tragedy is not that we have rugged trees. It is that we become so captivated by them that we never discover the vast forest, “beautiful and bold, with so much to explore and to behold.” This episode is an invitation to adjust “the lenses of your heart” and begin seeing yourself and others with greater wisdom, compassion, and wholeness.

Episode 7: The Economics of Attention: AI, Consciousness, and the Next Stage of Being Human

What has every major technological advancement throughout history really given us? From the wheel to the washing machine, from the calculator to the computer, every innovation has relieved humanity of a task that once demanded our time and effort. But have we ever stopped to ask what those technologies gave us in return? In this episode of My Many Selves , Damaris Nightingale explores a question that goes far beyond Artificial Intelligence. Rather than asking what AI will become, she asks a more profound question: What might humanity become because AI exists? Together, we examine the hidden relationship between technology, time, attention, and consciousness. If every technological advancement has liberated a little more of our time, then AI may represent the greatest liberation of human attention in history. But that freedom comes with an equally profound responsibility. Today, our liberated attention has become one of the world’s most valuable resources. Every platform, every notification, every advertisement, every headline, and every algorithm competes for it. The question is no longer whether we have attention. The question is where we choose to invest it. Will we use this new freedom to accumulate more information, or to cultivate greater wisdom? Will we simply become more efficient, or will we become more human? This episode invites you to rethink technology, consciousness, and your own future through a new lens: The Economics of Attention. Because the future of humanity may not be determined by the technologies we create, but by what we choose to do with the attention they return to us.

Episode 6: Things That Make You Wonder

Things That Make You Wonder A pigeon flies through a window. One person calls it a bad omen. Another calls it a blessing. Forty-eight hours later, a series of extraordinary events unfolds, raising questions that challenge the way we think about meaning, consciousness, and the many ways human beings come to know. In this episode, Dr. Damaris Nightingale explores the relationship between science, spirituality, curiosity, and discernment. Inspired by neuroscientist Dr. Tara Swart's willingness to investigate experiences that challenged her understanding, she asks a timeless question: What if science is an extraordinary way of knowing, but not the only one? Together we'll explore why healthy skepticism protects us from deception, why fanatical skepticism can blind us to discovery, and why curiosity and discernment are not opposites, but partners. You'll hear a deeply personal story of tragedy, intuition, unexpected grace, rosemary, and a remarkable chain of events that invites us to ask not what we should believe, but how we make sense of experiences that don't fit neatly into our current understanding of reality. Whether you've experienced profound intuition, meaningful coincidences, vivid dreams, synchronicities, or simply carry questions you've never felt comfortable asking, this episode is an invitation to wonder. Not to abandon science. Not to abandon reason. But not to abandon wonder either. Because perhaps the greatest discoveries begin, not with certainty, but with the courage to ask a better question.

Episode 5: Guilt The Self-Torturer

After losing someone we love, grief is expected. What we don’t talk about nearly enough is guilt. The conversations we replay. The things we wish we had said. The things we wish we had done. The impossible belief that somehow we could have changed the outcome. In this episode, I explore guilt as the self-torturer, that part of the mind that keeps lifting the sword against itself long after the battle is over. Through my experience of losing my mother, we examine grief, self-flagellation, the illusion of control, and the healing power of remembering love more than regret. Perhaps guilt is not love. Perhaps it is love that has forgotten its own kindness.

Episode 4: The Fragrance Within: Rewriting Your Narrative Through Scent

In this episode of My Many Selves, Dr. Damaris Nightingale explores the fascinating intersection of fragrance, identity, archetypes, and personal transformation. Drawing from decades of experience creating custom fragrances, she challenges the conventional view of perfume as merely a pleasant scent. Instead, she proposes that fragrance can serve as a doorway into different ways of being, helping us consciously access aspects of ourselves that may otherwise remain dormant, forgotten, or hidden in the shadows. Discover the difference between scent and fragrance, explore the fields of aromatherapy, olfactotherapy, and Perfume Therapy, and hear remarkable stories of individuals whose lives were influenced by intentionally crafted fragrances. From a man searching for a life partner, to a woman finding her voice, to filmmakers using fragrance to support creativity, this episode examines how fragrance may help us move beyond limitations and step into the many selves that already exist within us. If fragrance can influence how we think, feel, remember, and perceive, could it also influence which version of ourselves shows up in the world? Join us as we explore the possibility that fragrance is not simply something we wear, but something we enter.

Episode 3: King Kona Syndrome The Hidden Cost of Being the Strong One – And How to Choose Consciously

In this episode of My Many Selves, Damaris Nightingale explores King Kona Syndrome — that powerful energy where women carry heavy loads for everyone around them. King Kona isn’t inherently good or bad. Some women are natural, high-functioning King Konas and thrive in this role. But for many of us, we unconsciously slip into over-helping, over-carrying, and over-functioning — often paying a hidden cost in our energy, peace, relationships, and wellbeing. Damaris breaks down the four main expressions of King Kona energy: The Natural King Kona The Reluctant King Kona The Self-Effacing (Quiet Martyr) King Kona The Boss Lady King Kona You’ll discover how this energy shows up in both personal relationships and at work, the delicate “dance” of knowing when to lead and when to step back, and most importantly — how to move from autopilot to conscious choice. This episode will help you ask the powerful questions: Am I choosing this role… or did the role choose me? Am I willing to pay the cost? And can I turn my King Kona power on and off when I want to? If you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying too much, or secretly wish someone would have your back while still being strong — this conversation is for you. Tata for now.
